More than 23% of women are suffering from pelvic floor disorders. Till the older age, most of the symptoms remain mild. The posterior compartment of the pelvic floor diseases produces obstructed defecation symptoms (ODS). This comes with rectocoele and paradoxical pubo-rectalis muscle contraction. The obstetric external sphincter injury produces variety of faecal incontinence symptoms. Some of them can be misdiagnosed as a hemorrhoidal disease. The optimal diagnostic tests are transanal 3D ultrasound and anorectal manometry.
