The prevalence of hypertension among the urban community and promoting healthy behaviors

The aim of this study was to present the problem of the prevalence of hypertension in urban population. It take advantage method of diagnostic survey in research, which has allowed knowledge of opinion and views of researched communities, as well as assembly of knowledge about problem.
Materials and methods.
The study research included 250 people. It was conducted one of Silesian medical institution. The questionnaire survey was an investigative instrument.
Results
. Hypertension occurred more often among women tested 2-fold compared with men. It was the most widespread among the oldest participants in the study. Demonstrated a significant correlation between hypertension and the time for physical activity, salt intake, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption and weight test.
Conclusions
. The results of the study justify the need to intensify efforts to promote healthy behaviors among urban communities to reduce the incidence of hypertension.
